On day two of US President Donald Trump's visit to India, the focus switched from pomp and pageantry to trade and defense. Following talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, Trump said they had made progress on what he called a comprehensive trade deal. Although concrete details of a trade breakthrough remained elusive, the two leaders seemed keen to put the Trump-Modi chemistry on show for the world. Protests in Delhi against the country's controversial citizenship law overshadowed the visit, causing a public-relations problem for Modi. Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has died aged 91. Mubarak came to power in the early 1980s and ruled Egypt for three decades. During that time he forged stronger ties with the US and Israel while crushing opposition at home. That was until 2011, when he was ousted from power during the Arab Spring. After more than one million Egyptians, angry about poverty and repression, called for him to go, he ceded control to the military. He served time in prison, but his conviction was later overturned. The new coronavirus has reached Europe and is spreading. Stock markets plunged when the virus hit Italy, which is the EU's third-largest economy. The disease-cluster is in Italy's Lombardy region, the country's economic heartland. Northern Italy's economy is already suffering: Venice's famous Carnival had to be cancelled early. Cafés and hotels there remain empty. Tourism accounts for 13 percent of the Italian economy. Fashion is also flailing. The most important fashion shows and design fairs take place in Milan, in Lombardy. And Italy's economy is tightly intertwined with other EU countries. If Italy's borders were to close, it would be a disaster for all of Europe. Meanwhile, many Chinese are returning to work as factories closed over the coronavirus begin to re-open their doors. However, there remain plenty of businesses that still can't function because of the outbreak. Some of them risk bankruptcy if their supply chains aren't reinstated soon. Indian prime minister Narendra Modi has welcomed US President Donald Trump on his first official visit to the South Asian subcontinent. Thousands of people lined the streets to greet both leaders. In a lively event at the world’s biggest cricket stadium, Trump and Modi addressed a full house of cheering attendees. The trip comes amid simmering trade tensions. The US is India's second-largest trade partner, after China. In 2019, the US goods trade deficit was more than $23 billion. Washington wants India to buy more American agricultural products before it agrees to a wider pact. The two countries have been strengthening defense ties. India is now a Major Defense Partner of the US. Last year, the two sides signed a deal to ease the transfer of advanced weaponry and share encrypted military communications. Trump said he and Modi will sign around $3 billion worth of defense deals during the visit. A court in London will begin hearing the extradition case against Julian Assange today. If approved, the founder of Wikileaks would be sent to the US, where he faces up to 175 years in prison if convicted of conspiracy under the US espionage act. Assange’s supporters have been gathering outside the court, and yesterday hundreds of protesters marched through the British capital demanding his release. They are concerned that an Assange conviction in the US would make it easier to prosecute journalists who publish leaked classified information. The Chinese territory of Hong Kong has so far recorded a little more than 40 cases of the coronavirus COVID-19. But with a population of around 8 million packed together in dense residential housing, fears are growing that the number of infections will rise. The coronavirus has raised fears of a repeat of the SARS epidemic of 2003 when Hong Kong’s death toll was nearly the same as on the Chinese mainland. The territory’s leader Carrie Lam has asked a nervous public to come together to fight the virus. That call for responsibility going out not just to a nervous public, but also a divided one. For months, the city had been tearing itself apart over weekly pro-democracy protests. But the government's alleged inept handling of the coronavirus crisis has added another layer of distrust, to an already frayed relationship with the public. US Defense Secretary Mark Esper has justified diverting nearly 4 Billion dollars from aircraft and other programs to fund a border wall with Mexico. President Donald Trump says around 200 kilometers of the border fence have been finished. The president ignored criticism of the shift in funds, and talked instead about how much was being built, as well as making claims about people trying and failing to climb it. DW's Cai Nebe and Luisa von Richthofen delivered this report from Arizona, where construction is in full swing, cutting through conservation areas and heritage sites. Scientists in Antarctica say that for the first time in recorded history, the temperature on the world's southernmost continent has reached over 20 degrees Celsius. The news coincided with a big break in the ice on Pine Island, where an iceberg 300 square kilometers in area broke off from a glacier last weekend. Scientists fear that global warming could eventually cause the entire ice sheet covering Antarctica to disintegrate, which would cause global sea levels to rise dramatically and threaten the rapidly dwindling penguin and wildlife populations. There has been much debate about whether the bombing was a justifiable military attack, an unnecessary tragedy, or a war crime. We met with one of the survivors in the now rebuilt city. As Chinese authorities struggle to contain the COVID-19 coronavirus, they're also working to silence the growing number of critics of the government's crisis plans. Censors have been erasing critical social media sites. At least two outspoken citizen journalists have disappeared. Chen Qiushi and Fang Bin are among those whose whereabouts are unknown. And citizens were outraged at the death of Wuhan Doctor Li Wenliang, who raised the alarm about the virus. Meanwhile, China has reported 97 more deaths from the Corona virus and more than two thousand new infections, claiming these are the lowest figures since January. Officials also predict the epidemic could be over by April. But the World Health Organization disagrees, arguing it's too early to say whether infections have peaked. Cameroon is bracing for parliamentary and municipal elections with security concerns high in the separatist Anglophone region of the country. Attacks by militants and a boycott of the last presidential elections in 2018 saw turnout as low as 5 percent in the region. Separatists launced an insurgency in the Anglophone region in 2017. Since then they've been fighting the government in a conflict that has claimed some 3000 lives and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes. In December 2019 the Cameroon government offered a special status to the country’s minority English speaking regions. However, this has not appeased Anglophone separatist militias who have been seeking to create a breakaway state they call Ambazonia. The separatists have put in place their own laws in the region and have outlawed government-organized activities like education and elections. The 2019 novel coronavirus is a WHO global health emergency. Since it began using the designation in 2005, the World Health Organization has declared global health emergencies only 5 times before. The first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus was reported in the Chinese city of Wuhan on New Year’s Eve. Now, over 30,000 people in at least 26 countries have contracted it. A scandal over the involvement of the far-right in a normally obscure regional election in the eastern state of Thuringia has shaken German politics to the core. The extremist Alternative for Germany, or AfD party helped install a premier, Thomas Kemmerich, from a mainstream party, the business-friendly FDP. The World Health Organization says the number of people suffering from cancer is likely to rise sharply in the coming years. The warning is included in a report the organization has released for World Cancer Day. The good news is that more research, better treatment and chemotherapy options, and programs to prevent cancer could help save lives over the next decade. Cancer killed an estimated 9-point-6 million people in 2018. Only heart disease causes more deaths. The most frequently diagnosed forms of cancer are lung cancer and breast cancer, each responsible for just under 12 percent of all cases. They're followed by colorectal cancers at around 10 percent. Smoking tobacco tops the list of preventable causes of cancer deaths. It's followed by an unhealthy diet, obesity and lack of exercise. Read the background and get the key quotes here - p.dw.com/p/3WzYj Almost a year into his second term, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari's administration faces accusations of corruption, human rights abuses and that his government is attacking basic freedoms. DW's Tim Sebastian met Lai Mohammed, Nigeria's minister of Information and culture in London to discuss the state of Nigerian politics and the steps that the government is taking to address the concern of international bodies and civil society. Mohammed dismissed the accusations as simple "confusion" and "misrepresentation" of the situation in Nigeria. According to the minister, the Buhari "administration, in particular, has been very sensitive to the issue of human rights". But while Mohammad says that "people have been punished" for human rights violations in Nigeria, Human Rights Watch and the United Nations disagree. The UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Agnes Callamard, has pointed out that the attempts of Nigeria to address its record of abuses have been entirely insufficient: "... the lack of effective investigations, the absence of meaningful prosecution, the militarisation of policing... are compounded by the lack of transparency." 1. it is not a "deadly virus" is just a "new" flu virus 2. it happened before with the "swine flu" and the "bird flu" the same media insanity, the same NHO insanity, then nothing 3. the "swine flu" after 3 months of hysteria and panic, did what? It infected 1/3 of the entire human population on the planet! And? Did we all died? No, we survived. 4. So far all data indicate that is a less lethal and less damaging virus than the common flu. 5. Possible everyone is scared because the Chinese over-reaction. So far no western scientist confirmed that the virus is anything special, more deadly or more contagious than the regular flu. So far people loss, media win.

A bunch of men/women supposedly elected to govern but they are not representing the legitimate Republic of the USA, but a private corporation of the District of Columbia a non government corporation under false pretense has allowed the bankers in the 50 States to defraud everyone with fraudulent loans and bankrupting the nation has the audacity to bomb nations in the Middle East only because they refuse to be slaves to the Rothschild's criminal bankers. G. Bush and T. Blair both convicted of war crimes and their criminals bossed have the audacity to charge Assange who exposed their crimes.

Leaders around the world keep talking about how they are going to limit impact, how things are under control, and how they have the resources to deal with the virus. Well, this flies in the face of what we see each day, which is increasing deaths, spread of the virus to other countries, increase in infections, and lack of supplies. I feel that we are being gaslighted.
